Toy Lending Library
The Toy and Equipment Lending Library has durable, fun and educational toys, theme bins and child care equipment for loan to child care providers registered Child Care Resource and Referral (CCRR) and families accessing SFRS services.
The library was one of the first of its kind in the Greater Victoria area when it was developed by parent volunteers in 1988. More recently, the volunteer library has been amalgamated with the theme bins and child care equipment of the CCRR to create a valuable resource for anyone caring for young children in Sooke and the Westshore.
Child Care Resource and Referral Registration
Use of the Toy Library is included as a service with Sooke/Westshore CCRR registration for all child care providers (group and family daycares, license-not-required child care and preschools) .
Family Membership
- The library has toys and theme bins suitable for children ages birth to 10 years.
- Library membership is an affordable and fun way for families to try out big toys before buying, and for offering new and interesting experiences for your children.
- Fees are $30 per family for a one year membership.
Resource Library
Available at SFRS is a resouce library with over 1,000 books with topics including:
preganacy, infant development, child development, language and literacy, family relationship, communication, guidenance, health and nutrition, adolecent development, parenting teens, self care, and mental health.
There is no fee for the use of this library. We kindly ask that you return materials by their due date.
